Social Media Etiquette

Our world today is shifting away from the traditional forms of communication and firms are doing just the same. Almost every applicant who applies for entry level up to middle management level their online and social media trails are being investigated by their employers and/or potential employers. This means they look at your facebook profile which many people have quite a bit their profiles public. They also make attempts to view your twitter feeds as well as they almost always look at your Linkdin profile.

By now you might be wondering what is the point of all this. The answer is actually quite simple. Firms do not only want to employ just anyone , but they wish to employee persons who keep themselves civil and can operate functionally within a business environment. By doing this the firm is not making decisions with too much asymmetric information. Firms also also do this to protecft their corpoarate image.

Be sure to screen yourself on social media, here are some red flags from a post in Bloomberg thaat us read recently.
