We want jobs is the talk of the day here in Jamaica but strictly speaking, those jobs you want do not exist.
Listen to the naivety and ignorance of this scenario

Mob: We want jobs, more jobs for the youths

Reporter: What type of jobs are you looking for?

Mob: Jobs that pay good money

Reporter: There are many jobs that pay good money, so which ones?

Mobster 1: Something in the office where I can suck up A/c
Mobster 2 ; A Job where I get a car

Reporter: Okay I hear you, what qualifications do you?

Mob: Qualifications, what is that sir?

Reporter: Well by that answer, an office job is out of the question you at least need a degree and the car not so much ....

Probably too harsh for a reporter but he's right, in today's world if you do not progress in education you will be left behind. But there is a way if you are not so bright or cannot afford to do so. But it does take some amount of brain and will power. What most countries lack is internal motivation to strengthen the private sector. Cursing Keynes a little bit, but Governments do not have the capacity to continue to intervene and provide jobs or even pay for everything. The problem with us today is we rely too much on governments, adding to our independence issues.

We need to begin to invest in ourselves and our futures like our ancestors did, the world isn't over yet , so let us at least try to live as comfortably as possible for now.
