Christmas Gifts from an Economist


1. Investment of Savings account- Having an economist in your family or your circle of friends probably means that you can get access to good financial advice, but one the best ways or economist to tell you that you need to save is to start the account for you probably

2. A Business Suit- A nice friend will always want to look out for your best interest you may have a stable job you like, but your economist friend doesn't believe that it's a grown-up job, so he/she buys you the suit, so you don't have an excuse while you are looking for the new job. Plus suits make you look sharp, and maybe even a date if you're single.

3. Bathroom Basket- This gift consists of  Shampoo, conditioner, Body wash, toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, breath mints, mint gum and deodorant. Don't feel insulted just use the products but make sure to my buy your own cologne!

4. A donation to a charitable fund your name- Since this is the season where everyone believes they should give, but you don't. Now that your friend the economist male/female stop the excuses and join the giving bandwagon.

5. A pamphlet for warehouse club membership (Costco, Sams Club, Price smart, etc.)- Another hint from gift idea #1 you need to save. If your friend the economist really likes you, he/she will probably pay for the first year for you.

6.Reusable Shopping bags- How awful does it look leaving a supermarket with dozens of plastic bags. Everybody is talking about going green, but actually using reusable shopping bags saves you time and money in the end.

7.An appointment with a CFP or CPA- Sounds like you really need to get your finances in order, so your thoughtful friend the economist got you a meeting with a Certified Financial Planner or Chartered Personal Account.

8. Community College or Online University pamphlet- Your Economist friend obviously has your best interest at heart, the best free gift is the gift of an interest in higher education, improving your skills to get you the better job we spoke about in #2.

9. Soda Stream/Brita Bottles, Pitcher, Faucet- Why on earth would you buy soda when you make it and why buy bottled water when you can filter the tap water you're paying for anyway? Brita should pay me for the free advertising because I use their bottles every day.

10. Donation to your kid's college fund- Your friend knows you, he/she want your kids to turn out better, and higher education is a necessity however it is expensive so starting to save from early is extremely important
