Career Advice

Every now and again I like to talk to youngsters about their career paths and the ever changing world we live in. Many economists go to work everyday and conduct constant research on market trends in the labor market. However the market for labor is very interesting, as it is a Demand Driven like many others but the market rarely gets to equilibrium which means there is always unemployment and we can never get rid of it; so with the little lesson out of the way. Lets take a look at traditional careers which I believe will still have a great deal of significance if those fields are not crowded.

Some of the oldest surviving careers are:

1. Musician: I know what you probably thinking there are too many people in music; but I did say musician which are those persons who stand out, have a distinct personality on stage and can still sell music when everyone is into P2P sharing.

2. Artist: Dating back from the ancient civilizations of the Egyptians,Mayans, Chinese, Macedonians and Romans. The work of artistes has remained throughout millennium and art still sells.

3. Accountants: The idea today is that they can be replaced with software but when you need to handle large amounts of cash and to enter data into the software and Accountant is still rleevant

4. Architect: All the worlds building are ideas of Architects and will continue to be, but I must warn the few who trod the road of architecture to be insightful and creative and not only look to build new things but to transform and update the old world structures which make up our common history

5. Tailor: I haven't heard of many guys who want to make men's clothing anymore so here is potential opening for the few looking for the niche market.
