Show me the Toilet paper

In the news this past weekend here in Jamaica, a gynecologist reported that some female patients of hers had been affected by the toilet paper brands that they used, to, you know, wipe. The toilet paper brands are said to be contaminated with bacteria and do pose a real threat to the safety of users.

The real problem however is that the bureau of standards does not wish to divulge the names of the brands that are associated with the the toilet paper drama. Instead persons are advised to call the bureau and inquire if their toilet paper is safe. Which makes no practical sense!

Economically either possible outcome poses for a potential reduction of sales for that particular product however the option to tell persons which brands are affected is more beneficial to consumers as they can switch their consumption and firms can claim against suppliers for the tainted products. Many times firms have to decide using their professional integrity as opposed to just making profits. Firms need to look out for the interest and health of consumers.
