Who do you want as US President? John or Diane

November 9, 2016, is going to be a day that the world will be watching and waited with bated breath, as America will have a new President-elect. By now we all now who the choices are. Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton and Donald John Trump, for this article to humanize the candidates a little more, I will use their middle names.

One week ago John formally accepted the Republican nomination at RNC in Ohio and last night Diane agreed to the nomination of the Democratic Party in Philadelphia making history as the first female to ever be nominated for a major political party. Diane and John are honestly not the best people that America could have chosen, but we are taught to deal with the hand we're dealt.

John was in Queens, New York, is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in economics. His father Fred Trump was real estate developer, John took over the business and grew it exponentially after renaming it the Trump Organization. He has amassed many companies and billions of dollars in revenue; he is listed on Forbes Billionaires list.

Diane, on the other hand, was born in Chicago, she attended Yale Law school where she met Bill Clinton who would later become Governor of Arkansas and President of the United making his wife Diane first lady of both Arkansas and The United States. Diane advocated for women's rights and would later become Senator for the State of New York. After a failed bid for President in 2008 where she lost to Incumbent President Barack Obama. Diane was appointed as Secretary of State.

Two candidates with varying backgrounds both wanting to be president. My personal views on the matter are just this, in 2008 I supported Diane in her bid for president, this year I felt the Bern and supported Bernie Sanders. In an article, I wrote last year about a Trump America; I perfectly predicted that he would be the Republican Nominee as the rest of the field was weak. But I strongly like to point out the harsh realities that the campaigns of both Diane and John that America and Everyone else should pay attention.

John's political incorrectness has brought forth the once silent racist movement in the United States; it 's hard to understand that even after the civil right movement of the sixties, and  the racial forms made in business and politics that many Americans still believe that African Americans should go back to Africa. Even after seven plus years of Barack Obama as president, racist Americans are still resistant.

John's views on Immigration are backward looking, many persons have immigrated to the US to make a better life for themselves, undocumented immigrants are known to work the hardest as well as the low paying jobs that ordinary Americans do not want. America's success has been built on the backs of immigrants documented and undocumented, slave and free. All white, Latino, black, Asian, middle eastern Americans are immigrants. Policies of Mass deportation and torture do no stand well in the world that is moving towards peace. Building a Wall to keep Mexicans out is ridiculous because most of the illegal immigrant fly into the USA.

Diane, on the other hand, has had issues with her judgment on foreign policy especially as Secretary of State. It is under her leadership that is alleged  to have led to destabilization in the Middle east, however, she is the most travelled secretary of state and has a wealth of knowledge on how effectively forging partnerships for the US. She also is advocating for Immigration reform to make it easier for people to become citizens if they are contributing, affordable healthcare and Education and is committed to revitalizing the Middle Class. Importantly at such a time as this advocating for womens' rights, to ensure equal pay (Jamaica has had equal pay for women since 1974), maternity benefits and equal opportunities.

I could continue further about Diane and John but here's the truth, America faces a difficult decision in November one that will change the world in which we live. John as president presents uncertainty as to what will happen but we must stop to remember that there is something greater than the person of the President, that is the office of the President of the United States, not the oval office itself but the institution, Obama could have done much more as president but he was restricted by his office, the same applies to the successor.

But who's plans make better sense for America and the World?
Who's Plans are for building people up and not tearing them down?
Who's Plans make America greater than it ever has been ?
