Death by Selfie
An article in the UK telegraph has brought some light to a somewhat surprising trend. People have putting their lives in danger to take selfies. The article highlights a few things, it is now more likely that you will die from taking a selfie than being killed shark. So far in 2015, 12 people have died from taking selfies while only 8 people have died from shark attacks, surprising statistics.
On the other hand Russia has outlawed taking selfies in certain places, a tourist education of some sort probably geared towards reducing the rislk to the Russian government for compensation to the victims families. People are created nowadays especially "American Tourists' as the Russians put it.
In the guide, it is advised that selfie takers don't balance on dangerous surfaces or pose with loaded weapons, among other tips. Selfies have now become a dangerous sport as you could probably call it. But why do people subject themselves to such depths of stupidity. The reason is people are in search of likes. So look at it this way people rationally or irrationally make the choice to put their lives in danger just to get a few hundred likes.
If you die taking the pics you'll never get the likes you risked your life for.
