Keep Me, Kill Me or Leave Me:The Paradox of Human Greed

The awful paradox exists when you wish to fire someone in your family from a specific position in a family  business or organisation.  We can take an illustration from the movie The family that Preys , where we would have understood the son's plight to remove his mother from power so that he could make his name and be the boss.

As humans all of us desire to have power over something or someone for one reason or the other, we could argue that  it's in our nature,  second to our desire for power is greed and greed is the major driving force behind successful people.

Think about it, if you really desire something you take risks and and more risks to get to the point at which you truly desire to be. I say these things because in Economics we have this idea of the rational utility maximising consumer who eventually has a point at which he stop demanding a commodity. Rarely do economists account for the greed factor.

If I ask you are you greedy ? 8/10 people will tell me no they are not when it happens to be the reverse. They probably will think I'm referring to food, but that is a whole other post to come son.  Man inherently is selfish and self-preserving and this is not a bad thing because if you accept the fact that you are greedy you now have the ability to channel the greed so as to be better off.

But what exactly do we mean by channeling or greed for sucess. Since we wish to make life better for ourselves, we must do so without attempting to make someone else's life worse off. Pursing greed also implies dependency on others, once you understand that other people are important to your success your appreciation for the success of your desires will be ever more so great.

While keeping this in mind we must also understand that some people are both comparatively and completely better off than others and this will not be changing anytime soon. This now represents the fatal flaw in the whole scheme of things, life and business are not 1 2 3 but have complexities all because humans are complex , power-seeking greedy beings
