#CollegeEconomist: For the Love of Money
I haven't written here in a while, but gathering thoughts is hard work.
My blog posts from now on are going to stimulate your mind as well I hope it stimulates conversation.
Today is the end of the 2nd week of my summer employment to a bank. The concept is that I am a student of economics working at a bank so I should gain something from the exposure and the experience. But whats the problem?
So far I've done nothing related to my skill sets and I doubt I ever will, but I continue to work on the basis that if you work then you must get paid.
Do you think I'm working just for the money? Mind you its not a lot of money
A rational worker will choose to work even though the compensation is not sufficient, simply because pay is better than no pay. This explains underemployment. Why people will go to university and do well and then accept a job that requires no qualifications.
People who love money will want to keep as much of it as possible which is not the average man.
The bigger picture in all of this is that people do work because they love money, what they love is the benefit that can be derived from obtaining that money through working
